About Me

My name is Melanie Charlesworth and I am a mother of boy/girl twins. I live in Southern New Jersey with my kids, husband of 15 years and three dogs. I recently
started writing reviews for Stories & Swag and decided to give it a try myself! Update – I am now an administrator for the Stories & Swag Facebook page!

I am also c0-owner and partner in Heaven Sent Promotions when we host blog tours, cover reveals, release day blitz and an assortment of other services. We also provide street team management!

I inherited my love of reading from my mom when I was a young teenager. The first book I ever read was Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews and I was hooked.

My reading obsession didn’t get crazy until my mom gave me the original Kindle Fire for Christmas. At first I just used it to watch movies and check my email
because I liked “real” books. Then, I started hearing all of this hype for The Hunger Games and figured that I would give it a try….then I read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and it just grew from there. Now, in addition to the original Fire, I have the Fire HD 32gb, the original Paperwhite, and the Kindle app on my phone so that no matter where I am I can read!

I love to escape into someone else’s world, someone else’s experiences, someone else’s life. I love to feel what they feel whether it be happiness, sadness, confusion or pain.
I love falling in love with the characters and I refer to myself as an angst whore.

My favorite books are the ones that really make me feel like; Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, Arsen by Mia Asher, the Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens , Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, Falling into You by Jasinda Wilder, the Undeniable series by Madeline Sheehan, and the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day to name a few.

Hi! I have a paranormal romance/dystopia Ethereal Fury- Gemini Rising #1, I would love for you to review! If so, please respond. My blurb, links and a few quotes are below!

BLURB: Angry at the human race and its methodical destruction of her resources, Mother Earth recruits souls who have just left their bodies to serve Her, and turns them against humanity. Gemini, a clan of paranormal beings, picked from these possessed humans, emerges. A powerful, rising force proceeds to carry out Mother Nature’s plan to systematically destroy towns, cities, states… and eventually, the world. Amidst the chaos, a forbidden relationship between a human girl, Violette, and Onyx, a lead Gemini, begins. They will both find themselves in the middle of a revolutionary war that will either save, or destroy our world.

“Too often we find ourselves reading books we swore we’ve already read because people keep recycling plot ideas, character themes, and general settings. I’m glad to see this author decided to step out of that phase and write something so different and unique.” -Amazon reviewer

“Jessica O’ Gorek spins a thick web that captures readers and consumes them into the fantasy she creates in her new book Gemini Rising Ethereal Fury.” – Stacie Theis

“Jessica is an accomplished writer, her character development, style and flow of the story she told is as good as any best-selling author. It was impeccable.” – Julie Darley

“Whoa! I was so shocked by this book! Before reading it I knew that it wasn’t going to be your typical paranormal book. But it was so different and I mean different in an awesome way. This book was unlike anything I’ve EVER read before!!!” – Sharon David

“To say that I enjoyed Gemini Rising would be an understatement. I found myself drawn into the tangled web of the story and held tight on the edge of my seat!” – Lee Ryder
