imagePhoenix has been stumbling through life since her brother Adric’s tragic death but after eight years, she is finally piecing what remains together. She has a nice apartment, a steady job and not to mention a fresh new ‘relationship’ with her childhood friend, Kade Haze. He’s the sexy boy next door she never even dreamed of falling for, but can’t seem to stop the pull she feels toward him.

Just when life began to make sense again and a feeling of normalcy was on the horizon, Phoenix’s carefully constructed walls come crashing down.

When walking into the tattoo shop one day, the last thing she’s expecting to see is Kellan Haze, Adric’s best friend no one has seen or heard from since the day they found her brother’s body. He’s nothing as she remembers him as a child, with his wild messy hair, tattoos that cover most of his undeniably sexy body and eyes so intense it makes her legs quiver with one look. The one thing even she can’t deny is the instant rush she feels just by being in his presence.

But how can you choose between love and lust when one of these hold a dark secret, one that can crush your world to pieces and leave you gasping for air. Who can you trust when your mind is pulling you in two different directions and your heart has to choose for you?

The Haze brothers are sexy, daring and possibly . . . dangerous.

This Regret is a story of love, lust, betrayal and danger with an ending that no one saw coming.

imageThe blast of a .38-caliber revolver sends me crashing to my knees, landing in the road, with gravel digging deep into the flesh of my knees.

My hands grip the gritty ground, as if my life depends on it, making my fingers bleed. Who knows, at this point, maybe it does.

Even with my eyes closed, I can feel the world spinning around me, my body threatening to give up and lose what control I have left. Tears stream down my horror-stricken face and a silent scream is threatening to form in my throat. It hurts. It hurts like hell.

That’s when I hear it. A bloodcurdling scream that makes my blood run cold. Except, it’s not my screaming that is roaring through my ears as I expected.

It’s the screaming of a woman. A very angry, hysterical woman.

The only thing I can decipher is, “Call 911. Somebody fucking call 911. There’s blood everywhere.”

I can hear bodies shuffling nearby, some of them even tripping over me to get away, but I can only process one thought. He’s gone. Please don’t let him be gone.

With force, I am yanked to my feet, a large hand smacking me across the face, causing blood to taste on my tongue.

I try to focus, but my vision is too blurred to make any sense of who has control of my body and at this point, I’m not so sure it even matters.

“This is your fault,” the deep voice growls as I spit blood onto his filthy boots. Narrowing his eyes, he wraps my hair securely around his hand and yanks my head back, hard, while his other hand tightens around my throat, squeezing. “You’re going to pay for this if it’s the last thing I do, you stupid bitch.”

He lets go of my neck and shoves me down to the ground so my face is pressed into the gravel, his boot crushing into the back of my skull. Dirt and rocks dig into my left eye, making it even harder to see through the tears. I desperately look for the man that hasn’t only crushed then stolen my heart just to crush it again, but has also replaced a part of me that I thought was long ago lost.

Realizing that my search is pointless, I just lay there defeated, feeling half-alive, but mostly dead. “Go ahead,” I whisper. “See if you can hurt me anymore than you already have. I dare you.” My body’s trembling, but I look him dead in the eye anyways. I’m not scared of dying. Not after losing the biggest part of me, my heart. “Losing him will be my last regret.” I shift so that I’m looking at the deep scars that cover his face. They make me sick. He makes me sick. “That and not killing you when I had the chance.”

Carter was captivated by Ellyson Evans the moment he laid eyes on her,
but she was the one girl who didn’t beg for his attention.
He wanted her.
Ellyson vowed to never fall in love, because love can destroy you,
but then she met Carter Jennings.
She wanted him.
Unwilling to risk their comfortable friendship, neither confessed their desires.
Losing touch after college, a chance meeting reconnects them.
They want each other.
But love in the city is never quite that easy.

Melanie’s Review

“You don’t learn how to be in love. It’s not like learning how to walk or talk. It’s innate, like breathing. I think love is something we do to survive. To live your life to the fullest, you gotta love every bit of the journey.”

I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. I thought that it was going to be playboy meets shy girl in college and they fall in love but then his past comes back to bite him in the ass, making him realize how much he loves her, yada, yada…. But that isn’t what happened at all.

Elly and Carter meet on the first day of classes their freshman year of college in New York City. Carter was mesmerized by her the second he saw her, so he introduced himself and  they had an undeniable connection that led into an instant friendship that lasted all through college.

Her eyes made my pulse race, my breath hitch, and I couldn’t for the life of me remember ever gazing into eyes as big and fierce as hers. They were like melted fudge poured over ice cream: delicious and warm. – Carter

His closeness and the way he smelled of soap and woods turned me inside out. I heard my heartbeat in my ears and my breath shuddered at his whispered words. He made me nervous and excited all at the same time. I fancied the energized feelings he sent through me, though. I’d never had a guy give me butterflies, and I wasn’t about to ignore them. – Elly

Elly never told Carter how she felt about him because she didn’t think that he would ever want to be with her that way. She didn’t that that she was good enough for him. Carter never made a move because he wanted her in his life so badly that he didn’t want to risk losing her. A few days before graduation, Carter’s dad was in a terrible car accident and he had to move back to Texas to take over the families oil company while he recovered. Over the years, they lost touch and both were living with that regret. But when their paths cross again, nothing could hold them back.

It felt like we were seeing each other for the very first time; like we weren’t old friends reuniting after so many years. Things were definitely different now. I could feel the effect time had had on both of us and there wasn’t anything friendly about it. The tension rippling between us was intoxicating, and I saw something in his eyes that I’d never seen before. Hunger. Maybe it was because it was lunchtime and he was just hungry, but it felt like his eyes were feasting on my soul. As he fed his hunger and raked his eyes over my body, my eyes flew into a full blown visiongasm, running all over his features, gulping down every bit of him that had matured and aged like a fine wine should, enriched to their full, delicious potential. I wanted nothing more than to pop the cork, pour myself a glass, lick the taste of him from my lips, and admire the beautiful work of art he had turned his body into. – Elly

This book was hot, sexy, and well written. I wasn’t expecting it to make me cry, but I did. But at the same it made me happy too. As I was reading this afternoon, my kids kept asking me why I was smiling and I didn’t even know that I was! I look forward to more of this series to see who falls for who, but my bet is on Harper and Mav!

Blog Tour & Review: Evil of Love NL Echeverria

This book is for mature audience only due to sex, language and violence.
“I can’t take it! I’ve been craving you ever since I saw you the other day. I haven’t stopped thinking about you since you disappeared ten years ago! I need you Steph. I’m sorry…” -Eric Sutherland

Stephanie Wilcox never saw it coming after giving up that life ten years ago of
constantly being verbally and emotionally abused by her drunken father. She
didn’t run, but when she left, she never looked back. Forced by her abusive
father to live with her Aunt Elizabeth, she had to leave behind the one person that
had shown her true love. In her mind, Eric Sutherland, deserved so much more
and being with her would only bring him down. She never stopped loving the
sun-kissed boy who held her hand and touched her kindly.

It was years later when Stephanie met Travis Barnes, a young self-made
billionaire who swooped in and helped mend some of her loneliness. However,
after marrying Travis, he began to show who he really was and he was the type
of man she was accustomed to, after growing up with an abusive father, and
regardless of his flaws she still loves him. After all, why would she deserve
any better?

Eric broke, his kindness, his pure heart, it all fell apart that day Stephanie
left. He did all he could to reach her, but it was hopeless. All the sadness,
anger, and sorrow built up inside him over time and no one could replace the
love he had for Stephanie. Fighting has been his outlet and now as a well-known
UFC undefeated fighter, his career is all he has, but no matter how hard he
tries to forget her, he can’t.

Ten years later he comes face to face with those large brown eyes that belong
to the one girl he’s always loved and everything changes. This time he won’t
let her get away.

Weak. Depressed. Submissive. These are all words that describe me. They describe who and what I am. – Stephanie

Stephanie has been abused her entire life. First verbally by her father, then by the man who promised to love and cherish her. Travis was the perfect guy when they are dating and she thought that she had found her prince charming. Handsome, sexy, loving and wealthy he was every girls dream. That all changed after she became his wife. He slowly began breaking her down, bit by bit. He became verbally abusive and controlling. He wanted to control everything about her. She had to sell her car and quit her job. She was there to please him in every way he desired.

He wants to control every aspect of me. If he thought about it, he’d probably even tell me what I should and shouldn’t read. He picks my clothes, my wine, what and when I can eat…. How can a man so gorgeous, so smart and rich, be so ugly? He’s cruel and it’s completely intentional. I can’t even laugh it off as if he doesn’t know better. He uses his intelligence to control me and to belittle me. I’m silent, unresponsive to his remark. Drunk or sober he’s still an asshole. – Stephanie

When Eric sees Stephanie at the outdoor market, he can’t believe his eyes. He has not seen her in ten years but he still feels the pull because he never stopped loving her after they fell in love when they were in high school.

We were seventeen, just kids and after all these years I couldn’t find a single woman that could compare to her and the way she made me feel. The way she still makes me feel; she’s so damn innocent, beautiful and a heart made only for love and yet she marries this asshole who fucking hits her! How can I make her realize she’s better than that? She doesn’t deserve that bullshit. – Eric

This book is disturbing at times and it is sad that Stephanie doesn’t feel that she is worthy of being treated any other way than he husband treats her. Eric sets out to save her. Save he from herself and her husband who is getting increasingly violent towards her.

He is saving me more than he knows. He’s saving me from myself. I’m weak. My dad made me this way. He made me fearful of men. He made me believe all I ever deserved was to be treated like shit. I’ve never known any different, except with Eric. – Stephanie

4 Stars!!!!

There are many versions of ME. I’m a wife of an amazingly
supportive husband, a mother of three beautiful boys that inspire me every day,
a friend, a dedicated worker always looking to succeed, an author with
characters and stories always on my mind and then there is Me. The woman that
loves to stay up late and sleep in, takes ten minutes every morning before the
kids are up to sit and have a quiet cup of coffee. The woman that loves staying
up late with a good book and getting lost in the words. Enjoying a glass of
wine with dinner to wind down from my long days. A person who is still a girl
at heart, loving to smile, laugh and have fun whenever the opportunity arises.
My favorite place is still the beach because nothing is more peaceful then
listening to the sounds of the ocean against the shore. This is all a part of
who I am and I LOVE being me!

“You’re sick, you know that?” I say into the darkness. A soft rustling sound greets me, followed by the shift of movement. Yes, the lights are off but the corridor is lit behind me so it’s not like last time. I can see enough to make out the looming figure that slowly paces toward me.

“I know I’m not normal, if that’s what you mean.” A terrible devil’s mask appears before me, two feet away; Zeth is dressed entirely in black, the suit he wears obviously a thing of beauty even in the half light. His dark eyes shine from within the mask, sharp and hungry. “You’ve surprised me, Sloane. I like being surprised,” he rumbles.

“Well you’ve surprised me, too. Although I can’t say the feeling is mutual.”

He laughs, his voice so deep and powerful I can feel it in the soles of my feet. “You should open up a little. You never know what you might enjoy until you try it.”

“I know exactly what I enjoy, Zeth, and standing around watching fifty naked people grind on each other isn’t it.”

The eyes behind his mask flicker with annoyance when I say his name. He stalks toward me and reaches out, tracing his fingertips across my jawline. He seems pensive, intrigued by my stillness—I can’t freaking move—as he touches my skin.

“If you don’t like watching, Sloane, you can always join in.”
